Strategies for curbing examination malpractices: Perspectives of teachers and students

The purpose of the study was to examine perception teachers and students towards efficiency techniques implemented reduce examination malpractices in Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis. design for a descriptive survey. guided by six research questions. employs use multi-stage sampling technique. sample comprised 280 invigilation 370 from 10 public senior high schools Sekondi-Takoradi. A 4-point rating scale questionnaire named “Stakeholders Perceptions Effectiveness Strategies Curbing Examination Malpractice Questionnaire (SPESCEMQ)”, adopted. Means, standard deviation used analysing data. results revealed that strategies adopted curbing pre-examination were effective, but post-examination slightly effective metropolis. Students also agreed banning involved writing external examinations imprisonment supervisors aiding abetting malpractice are not effective. In conclusion, it appears both have new making be ineffective. Per conclusions investigation, West African Council (WAEC) is encouraged intensify electronic means checking since adopt methods cheating before, during after examination.
